This small and practical card has many benefits…

After more than 20 months of research, the Atoumod Community is gearing up for the installation of shared ticketing equipment. The Ticketing project has been piloted by the Upper Normandy Region and is a true innovation in France. In fact, all Upper Normandy Transport Authorities will acquire a common intermodal system which guarantees real interoperability between all public transport networks.
Truly interoperable ticketing…
Following a trial of the Atoumod card on one of the Upper Normandy TER (local train) routes, this ‘contactless’ smart card was officially launched on all regional train lines in January 2011, with the aim of progressively extending the service to all Upper Normandy modes of transport. The Atoumod card is convenient and will bring many benefits to all regional public transport users. The significance of this project lies in the provision of the same level of service throughout the region.
A sustainable transport information portal
In order to develop a transport information portal, devised as a project with a high level of service, the Atoumod Community is considering innovations which may broaden the scope of the portal’s functionality. The major issue is defining the ‘Atoumod’ service.
Multimodal pricing
A multimodal pricing system will be implemented in Upper Normandy from 2012. Once the principles of full zoning for the regional area (cellular) have been agreed upon, a trial will be launched: the Rouen/Evreux route has been proposed as a pilot area for multimodal pricing.
