START project presentation, 2 June 2010, by the Lower Normandy region to the management authority and joint technical secretariat of the Interreg IVA Botnia Atlantica programme.
The Botnia-Atlantica programme (www.botnia-atlantica.eu) is an Interreg IVA programme between the territories of Norway, Sweden and Finland. The programme’s objectives are to strengthen the east-west dimension, and develop integration and co-operation with a view to stronger growth and lasting development in the Botnia-Atlantica region.
The management authority and joint technical secretariat of the Interreg IV Botnia Atlantica programme undertook a study visit in Lower Normandy between 2 and 4 June 2010. In particular, the delegation sought to find examples of Interreg projects in the fields of tourism and communications media (transport, accessibility, information and communications technologies). In fact, “communications” is one of the Botnia-Atlantica programme’s 6 primary objectives.
The START project presentation led to a discussion on the theme of information for travellers in both the Atlantic area and Botnia-Atlantica regions:
- Where and how do you buy tickets for travel?
- Advertising public transport…
The visitors found the multimodal information systems tool interesting. MIS are also being developed in Botnia-Atlantica
